Every year, ASPEE Agricultural Research & Development Foundation conducts a Paddy Seed Production Programme at Tansa Farm to produce and supply high-quality rice seed to over 10000+ local farmers at an affordable price. The Foundation cultivates improved rice varieties such as GR-4, GR-11, GR-13, Ratnagiri-8 and Karjat-3, producing more than 1200+ tons of quality seed through scientific cultivation and strict quality standards. The processed seed is made available at a subsidised rate of ₹28 per kg, helping farmers reduce cultivation costs, improve crop productivity and promote sustainable rice cultivation in the region.

R & D Farm

Every year, ASPEE Agricultural Research & Development Foundation conducts a Paddy Seed Production Programme at Tansa Farm with the objective of producing and supplying high-quality rice seed to local 1200+ farmers at an affordable price. The programme plays an important role in strengthening local seed availability while promoting sustainable and productive rice cultivation in the region.

The Foundation produces several improved rice varieties, including GR-4, GR-11, GR-13, Ratnagiri-8, and Karjat-3, which are carefully selected for their adaptability, high yield potential, and suitability to the local agro-climatic conditions. Through scientific cultivation practices, strict quality control, and proper seed processing, the Foundation ensures the production of reliable and high-quality seed.

Each year, the programme produces approximately 40+ tonnes of certified-quality paddy seed, which is processed, packed, and made available to thousands of farmers in and around the Tansa Farm region. To make quality seed accessible to all, the Foundation supplies the seed at a highly subsidized and farmer-friendly price of ₹28 per kg.

By providing quality planting material at an affordable cost, the programme helps farmers reduce cultivation expenses, achieve better crop establishment, and improve productivity. Over the years, this initiative has earned the trust of the farming community and has become a significant contributor to enhancing seed security, improving livelihoods, and supporting sustainable rice production in the region.

Spread across 80+ acres, ASPEE Agricultural Research & Development Foundation has nurtured 6,500+ fruit trees, including 5,000 mango and 1,500 sapota trees, creating a valuable green ecosystem. These plantations provide naturally ripened mangoes and organically grown sapota to the community while improving air quality, conserving soil and water and supporting biodiversity. The trees help absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen and contribute to a healthier environment and a balanced local climate. This green initiative reflects the Foundation's commitment to sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and the well-being of present and future generations.

R & D Farm

ASPEE Agricultural Research & Development Foundation has developed a thriving 80 acre fruit orchard comprising approximately 5,000 mango trees and 1,500 sapota (chikoo) trees. This extensive plantation not only produces premium-quality fruits but also serves as an important green resource that benefits the environment and the surrounding community.

Every year, the Foundation supplies naturally ripened mangoes and organically grown sapota fruits to the community, ensuring access to fresh, nutritious and chemical-free produce. The fruits are harvested with care and allowed to ripen naturally, preserving their taste, quality and nutritional value.

Beyond fruit production, the plantation provides significant environmental benefits. The 6,500 fruit trees absorb large quantities of carbon dioxide, release oxygen through photosynthesis, improve air quality, and help regulate the local climate. The dense tree cover conserves soil, reduces erosion, enhances groundwater recharge and supports biodiversity by providing habitat for birds, bees, butterflies and other beneficial organisms. The orchard also contributes to maintaining ecological balance by creating a cooler microclimate and increasing atmospheric moisture, which can support local rainfall patterns over time when combined with broader landscape vegetation.

The plantation plays an important role in improving the well-being of the local community by providing fresh fruits, generating rural employment, supporting sustainable agriculture and demonstrating environmentally responsible farming practices. It also serves as a learning centre where farmers, students and visitors can observe scientific orchard management and sustainable cultivation techniques.

Through this long-term commitment to horticulture and environmental conservation, ASPEE Agricultural Research & Development Foundation continues to create lasting benefits for people, agriculture and nature, demonstrating that productive farming and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.

The ASPEE Agricultural Research & Development Foundation Fellowship Programme is one of India's distinguished initiatives dedicated to encouraging excellence in agricultural education and research to postgraduate and doctoral students pursuing advanced studies in various disciplines of Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering. Every year, this prestigious fellowship attracts a large number of applicants from Agricultural Universities across India. So far, more than 12,000 postgraduate students have applied for the ASPEE Fellowship and over 1,000 deserving students have been awarded the fellowship. The financial assistance provided through this program has significantly benefited students in meeting their educational expenses, conducting research work, purchasing study materials and completing their postgraduate studies with greater confidence.

Over the years, hundreds of scholars have benefited from the programme and have gone on to become scientists, academicians, researchers, administrators, and industry leaders across India and abroad.

Through this initiative, ASPEE Foundation is nurturing young agricultural scientists and engineers who will contribute to the advancement of Indian agriculture and rural development.
